Xanthe's Time to Hog!

Nishiko has been hogging the blog too much. Mummy has apologised and now here I am.

I have missed you all.

The has weather is pretty odd at the moment, but when the sun is out I do a lot of sun bathing at the window.

I've been doing a lot more but Mummy never seems to have her camera out when I'm doing something. I must tell her to take more photos! Nishiko is getting too much attention...

Test Kitten

Mummy got a new toy for her camera and want to test it by taking photos of me! But she did it while I was sleeping so I was a little upset as I could have posed for her if I was awake. Which ones do you prefer?

Our 3rd Birthday!

It's our Birthday!

OMC! We had to remind Mummy that we wanted her to do us a poster for today's post so that everyone can know! But Mummy has left it until now and our Birthday is nearly over...

So we call all Kitizens over to our home for a party from dusk until dawn. Our aim? To give Mummy a sleepless night as punishment for not doing it sooner... MOL!

We have meat in the fridge and milk. Lots of toys and a big bed to sleep on... Not much We know but we are sure to have a good time!

Good Bye Sweet Finny

As I decide to start Nishiko's and Xanthe's blog again, I hear the saddening news of Finny's passing.

Fin's blog was the first I came across back in June 2009 when I first had the idea of making my blog about the day to day lives of two kittens. I contacted Meg for some help and she was the one who introduced me to The Cat Blogoshphere. Without her and Fin, I would not have been able to experience all the highs and lows of our little community.

This is the first post I stumbled upon back in June 2009. I remember giggling at the "grannycat street cred". Click here.

My heart goes out to you, Meg, at this very difficult time. Nishi and Xanthe also send their purrs and headbutts.

Umpire Xanthe!

Mummy and Daddy like to play cards. They sit around the round table and play a game called Magic The Gathering.

I like them playing cards. They have dice that I can kick around!

I like to sit on the table and make sure they are playing fair. I cheer on Daddy as he usually wins the game! Here's me with Mummy and Daddy. The game can be quite intense at times but they always have a laugh!

Finally, Mummy has realised why I get so upset and wee on the bed every so often - see yesterday's post!

Hopefully I won't have to worry going about my business in such a stinky litter tray! Still it does surprise me that some Kitizens have to put up with smelly trays for a lot longer than My Dear Xanthe and Me... Feel free to visit anytime!

Smelly Litter Tray...

I was reading an article in Your Cat Magazine, November 2011 edition. The article was call "Lost in translation" by Vicky Halls. I learnt that a cat's sense of smell is 14 times stronger than that of a human being.

I got the follow image of Nishiko...

Nishi walks over to the litter tray and takes a sniff... "Ducking Hell! This is stinky, really stinky and so dirty. Mummy and Daddy need to clean this more often because I can't use this!"... Nishi gets so frustrated because of the pong from the dirty litter tray that she goes ahead and does the one thing that she thinks will tell Mummy and Daddy that she is unhappy... I the middle of the night she creeps into the bedroom and jumps on the bed. She squats... Mummy feels a wet puddle soaking into her night clothes and onto her skin. She jumps with a screams. Nishiko has wet on the bed!

Changing a cat's litter tray is not a pleasant thing as most peeps know too well. Don and I will tend to do a complete litter change every 2 days - I know this is not great and I feel so guilty about it, and the stench is unbearable. After reading Vicky's article I think I'm putting the girls through a lot worse than previously imagined and will now endeavout to change their tray every day from today.
